Help Give Hope

About Us

 Our Mission

Since 1981, Help Give Hope has committed itself to helping needy families have a brighter future. The efforts of our donors and volunteers has made a difference for thousands of Ozarks children and families.

Our Story

Help Give Hope was established in 1981 to assist needy children and families in Southwest Missouri. Originally designed to provide only Christmas assistance, the charity now has a robust year-round mission and has become one of Southwest Missouri’s largest children’s charities. We serve Greene, northern Christian, and western Webster counties.

We assist families with utilities, rent, gas vouchers, and educational help throughout the year. Since 2006 we have assisted almost 2,500 families and over 8,000 children with a merrier Christmas. We have also given away over 4,500 bikes, 600 twin beds, 80 cribs, and 100 kitchen tables. We also offer a used car program that has become one of the largest in the Midwest, with over 125 vehicles donated to families in need since the program’s inception. We are excited about our new mentoring program that will provide positive adult role models for at-risk youth.

100% of all donations go directly to families in need. All donations are private. Help Give Hope receives no government assistance.

23rd Annual Benefit Golf Tournament
23rd Annual Benefit Golf Tournament

Join us for our 23rd Annual Benefit Golf Tournament, benefiting our local Harmony House and Help Give Hope.

Sponsorships, teams and volunteers are needed. Full details:

This tournament is brought to you by Credit Unions for Community, a cooperative consisting of local credit unions. Together, the group has raised a total of $829,228 for local charities.

Established in 1998, Help Give Hope offers used cars to those in need of transportation. Help Give Hope purchases the car and the recipient of the automobile is made aware that the car has been inspected and repaired, if needed, for Missouri Motor Vehicle Inspection by authorized mechanics of Help Give Hope and is given “as is.” This car comes with no warranty. It is the responsibility of the new owner to financially maintain the automobile, carry required insurance on the vehicle and keep all registration / licensing current. Help Give Hope holds the Title of the automobile “in good faith” for one year.

This program is based on the availability of cars purchased or donated to Help Give Hope. This specific program is a lengthier process.
