How Well Do You Know Table Rock?

Everyone knows Table Rock Lake is the place to be for summer fun, but how much do you actually know about the area?

Here are some interesting facts to test your area knowledge!

1. Table Rock Lake is a man-made lake that was authorized by Congress through the Flood Control Act of 1943.

2. Engineers thought it would take months to fill the lake. However, it filled in just days!

3. The lake filled so rapidly that it submerged the Kimberling City Bridge under 100-150 feet of water. It was scheduled to be torn down, but is still partially intact, underwater, to this day!

4. The small village of Oasis was evacuated and flooded when the dam was made – it can be visited by experienced divers.

5. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers manages the lake and Table Rock Dam.

And while you probably know that the lake is a great fishing destination, did you know you can check the fishing report to learn about fishing conditions and sign up for weekly reports?
